Internationally Trained Workers (ITW)

The overarching objective of the project is to develop an electricity immigration kit that will assist industry employers in meeting their labour needs by enhancing their understanding of employment practices that support recruitment and retention of internationally trained workers (ITWs). Furthermore, this project will inform electricity sector employers of the potential and need to recruit internationally trained workers, create resources to support and identify provincial requirements for electricity-related occupations, and share information on best practices in recruiting and retaining ITWs.

The resource kit will adapt components of existing sector council and government ITW recruitment and retention guides in order to make them specific to the electricity and renewable energy industry. It will also contain provincial and territorial specific resources and regulations as well as examine best and immerging practices that currently exist within the industry.
